The Ascend North Texas Professional Chapter is thrilled to announce our first event of the year, and we are starting 2017 with our top of the line programming content! We are pleased to offer you one of the most sought after workshops in corporate diversity – Ascend’s Executive Insight Series workshop that will be taught at KPMG’s state of the art office building in downtown Dallas on February 3rd, 2017. To make this investment of your time go an extra mile, we are also offering an unprecedented 7 CPE CREDITS upon successful completion of this 1-day workshop. About The Executive Insight Series ™ The Executive Insight Series™ (EIS) assists high-potential Pan- Asian managers and senior professionals to attain leadership roles in major North American corporations. EIS provides insight into key characteristics, specific behaviors, competencies, and experiences required to reach the executive level. Participants typically have at least 8-12 years of experience and hold manager, senior manager, director, vice-president or pre-executive positions.


Introduction Module – The Myths of Asian Leadership What is preventing Pan-Asians from achieving positions in the C-Suite? This module uncovers what participants can do to overcome these limitations. Power & Influence This module concentrates on corporate power and influence; what participants need to recognize in order to navigate the corporate world effectively. Managing Up This module helps participants understand the importance of their own executive leadership teams and how they can engage those teams to ensure long-term career success.

EIS SESSIONS CO-LED BY: Janet S. Wong (Executive Advisor, Ascend Board Director, Enviva Partners; Retired Partner, KPMG LLP) Janet S. Wong serves as a non-executive board director and audit committee chairman for Enviva Partners. She is a CPA with over thirty years of experience in public accounting. She is a retired partner with KPMG where she spent most of her career based in the Silicon Valley and San Francisco offices. She serves as an Executive Advisor to Ascend where she also co-developed the “Executive Insight for Women” program. Janet has co-authored two immensely popular Ascend research papers Check out Janet’s LinkedIn Profile Wade W. Loo (Audit Committee Chair, Kofax plc; Executive Advisor, Ascend; Chairman of the Board Job Train, Silicon Valley; Former Senior Partner, Northern California Audit Practice, KPMG LLP) Wade is currently the Audit Committee Chair of Kofax plc. Prior to retiring from KPMG LLP, he was the Senior Partner in charge of the Northern California Audit practice. Wade had 30 years of experience with KPMG, both working with public companies in an international environment and serving major U.S. multinational companies. In addition, he has worked in KPMG’s Beijing, Singapore and Tokyo offices overseeing KPMG’s professional services to several multinational companies. While in China, Wade also worked with the Ministry of Finance to assist in the development of Chinese accounting standards and taught local accountants western accounting and auditing procedures.
